We studied for our legal qualifications at the University of Law before going on to train with Mayer Brown, Ashurst, Dentons and Linklaters.
We came up with the idea for YourGDL during a long night of revision for some mock exams. We were sure that there were lots of law students like us who were looking for a trustworthy and intuitive study guide. Something that would help cut to the core of the vast numbers of cases and principles we had to memorise.
We launched online in September 2010. Suddenly we had orders and lots of them!
The next year our customers had moved on to their LPC courses and were emailing to ask whether we could provide notes to help. We developed YourLPC and our range of Electives notes. When customers studying at BPP asked for something more tailored to their course, we started working on an alternative version of YourGDL (the "Pink Book"), which launched in September 2014. In 2016 we brought out Case Summaries - a flashcard-style revision tool to help students memorise cases.
The business has grown enormously but we still work to the same principles - accuracy, clarity and great customer service. Every year we take on board the feedback we've received from our customers, revise the notes thoroughly and look at what we can do better. In many ways, the strength of our products is not just our own work, but the collaborative effort of the hundreds of law students who have contributed to and tested each edition of YourGDL and YourLPC since 2010. We want to be there to support you through your legal studies from the start to the finish. For us, there is nothing more rewarding than hearing from a student who says YourGDL or YourLPC helped get them the grade they needed.
